“Fan support for both our men’s and women’s national teams has been outstanding each time they have previously played in Austin,” said Austin FC President Andy Loughnane. “We look forward to supporting them once again in this crucial Concacaf Nations League match.”
The Quarterfinal Round of the CNL serves as qualification for the prestigious 2024 Copa America, South America’s preeminent international tournament, which will be hosted in the United States next summer. The USMNT will play a two-legged tie in November against Trinidad & Tobago, including the home leg match at Q2 Stadium, with the winner qualifying directly for the 2024 Copa America.
The USMNT has played three (3) prior competitive matches at Q2 Stadium, earning shutout wins in front of sold-out crowds on all three (3) occasions.
“With this game being critical to our objectives of advancing in the Concacaf Nations League and qualifying for the 2024 Copa America, we think in all ways that Austin is the perfect host,” USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter said. “Along with the world-class facilities, the fan support and the atmosphere in the stadium has been incredible every time we play there. We’re looking forward to coming back in November.”
